Welcome to Heart of the City, we’re Sheffield City Council’s flagship city‑centre regeneration programme — an ambitious, mixed‑use redevelopment that reshaped a 7‑hectare area of the city into a vibrant, modern destination.
Bringing together 1.5 million sq. ft of high-quality retail, Grade A offices, restaurants and bars, boutique hotel space, urban living, and beautifully designed public spaces, the scheme has been thoughtfully delivered by Sheffield City Council.
Already home to leading global businesses such as HSBC and CMS, Heart of the City is fast becoming Sheffield’s prime destination for work and investment. We’re extremely proud of our strong environmental credentials which include creating green space with sustainable urban drainage systems continuing Sheffield’s proud tradition of quality urban realm and delivering the project sustainably.
Our buildings including Elshaw House have also been designed with sustainability in mind, this fully electric Grade A building drastically reduces energy use with 40% lower embodied carbon than average, controllable building systems and mixed mode ventilation. Elshaw House is rated BREEAM excellent and currently targeting a rare NABERS 5 star rating. In addition, Grosvenor House has been assessed for environmental sustainability to the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) scheme, achieving a Gold standard. We know sustainability matters to our occupiers and it matters to us as well.
